This is a ridiculously overkill custom $3500 gaming pc you can build yourself in 2024 for only the most demanding of PC games at 4K. If your focus is running the latest cutting edge PC games at 3840x2160, with ray tracing or path tracing enabled, anywhere from 144fps-240fps, then this gaming pc should more than suffice all the while being an excellent streaming and multimedia machine.

Once again, this is a very overkill gaming pc you could build for $2500, and quite frankly, this pc is too much for the average pc gamer. I don't predict you fully stressing out this pc for gaming unless you intentionally plan to exclusively run path tracing (ray tracing) games at their fullest potential. That said, if insisted on building a $2500 gaming pc, then this is what I'd build.
If you're going all out for a $2500 gaming pc build, then you have to go with the Ryzen 9 7950X3D. Sporting 16 cores, 32 threads, and a ton of L3 cache, this CPU will be great now and great another 10 years in the future. If you wanted to save money, then a Ryzen 7 7800X3D for less will offer you the same gaming performance, but if you wanted to have bragging rights to your friends, then that's where a unnecessarily fast yet expensive gaming CPU like the Ryzen 9 7950X3D would make sense.
To contain that CPU, a capable B650E motherboard is as extreme as I would go, as even a X870 motherboard won't provide you any additional performance over a B650E motherboard. It's also important to get a motherboard that has quality VRMs to handle lots of heats and stress from that monster CPU, which the motherboard chosen for this $2500 gaming pc build fortunately does.
Next for memory, even though this is a very high end $2500 gaming pc build, 32GB of DDR5 memory is still enough for even a pc build like this. What's important is not the capacity, but the speed of the memory, which this chosen RAM kit has being a 6400mhz kit with a CAS latency of 32.
For storage, we've got room for a 2TB PCIe Gen 4.0 M.2 SSD which should be enough for even a monster $2500 gaming pc like this. Once again, it's important to choose a M.2 SSD with a DRAM controller, which the one chosen for this build list does.
The sky high gaming performance needed to make this $2500 gaming pc build work at 4K will have to be all done by the Nvidia Geforce RTX 4080 Super graphics card. This is Nvidia's best graphics card you can realistically afford that can handle any high frame rate 3840x2160 and graphically pleasing ray tracing gaming experiences you desire out of this $2500 gaming pc build.
The CPU and GPU chosen alone for this build will need a high capacity power supply, so a quality 1000W 80+ Gold power supply should be enough for this build.
Finally, you'll need a case that can channel a lot of air to the graphics card and the cpu cooler in this $2500 gaming pc build, so the chosen ATX pc case should offer enough internal cooling to keep all of your components cool when bundled with additional case fans.
The recommended monitor for this $2500 gaming pc build will be a high end 3840x2160 high refresh gaming monitor, like the one linked above for the build list.
